Chinese name: 洋斑燕
Location: Yishun Pond Park, Singapore
Date: 25th October 2020
Before I have the opportunity to take a closer look and observe this species, I have the impression that all the swallow has long tail and when it’s flying it’s look like a scissor and the bird are in black colour.
I am so wrong about this and very shocked to see the pacific swallow has such a beautiful blue metallic shining back and red hair on it’s fore head, orange hair around it’s neck.
It’s so amazing to be able to observe it through the Olympus 100-400mm telephoto lens . I sit down quietly at a good location and watch it fly back to rest at the same location again and again. Gives me ample time and chances to try different way to take the shot.
By using E-M1 MarkIII Pro Capture Low mode and very reliable auto focus system, I am able to capture the amazing moments especially when it expand the beautiful wings / take off / perching.
Hope you like this series of photo 🙂

Excellent photos. I hope you had some to throw away that didn’t work or I’ll be jealous. 🙂
Thank you for the encouragement, Sherry! In fact, I have a lot of failed works through the practises before I can start to take some acceptable photos. I am glad you like the photos, more are in the pipeline 🙂
Goid👍
Beautiful capture
Thank you! 🙂
