Brown Shrike – The Magic Moment of Taking off

Brown Shrike ( ηΊ’尾伯劳) is the uncommon migrant bird in Singapore. Normally found in Siberia, Northeast China, Northern Japan to Korea. During the winter time, they will migrate to the Indian Subcontinent, Southern China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

I am trying to practise the Pro Capture Lower mode in my Olympus E-M1 Mark III with the 100-400mm lens. Using the shutter speed of 1/2000s , set the ISO to Auto and thanks to the zoom capability of the lens allow me to compose the bird quickly and captured the important moments!

  1. Wow, the detail of its wings and tail feathers in various stages of flight is stunning! The green of the grass fronds in focus in the foreground with the blurred background green make these even more beautiful.
