Continue from last article, this post will share the photos of flying Red-breasted Parakeet.

This species fly very fast and no way I can use the EVF / Viewfinder to trace them and capture the BIF (Bird In Flight) , I have to rely on the Olympus EE-1 Dot Sight.

Utilising the EE-1 Dot Sight, allow me to aim at the bird quickly and increase my chances to get the accurate focus photo and you have to ensure the shutter speed is setup correctly, It depend on the type of bird you are targeting with, for this species I have to set at 1/2000 seconds so that I can take the successful BIF photos.

I am so surprised to see this photo after I loaded all the photos into my iMac. The parakeet’s tail expanded to star shape when it’s flying! It’s so unique and beautiful. Maybe this only happen when it’s perching. Will definitely try to observe carefully next time.
